Each year, the Perth Burns Club stages a Day of Culture on or around St Andrew’s Day. It’s a celebration of things Scottish and encompasses all the arts. The performance standard is very high, so you can look forward to an afternoon and/or evening of great entertainment in the Soutar Theatre, A K Bell Library on Saturday 26th November.
The afternoon session includes a lecture, a film and a play: Andrew Clegg takes a fresh look at Tam o’ Shanter; Douglas Eadie introduces his film on Norman McCaig (Douglas showed the Garden Beyond film about Soutar in April this year); and Anna Hepburn performs as Mary Queen of Scots. In the evening, local musician Jim Malcolm is joined by a cappella singers, the Silver Darlings. Tickets £6 afternoon, £8 evening. Full details from Perth Burns Club.
